A memorable day for the travel industry

Invite you to participate in the World’s first NFTicket auction celebration

An NFTicket is a non-fungible token ticket that handles every travel record as an NFT. The NFT is tied to the blockchain which gives it security, authenticity, and immutability to the ticket and the possibility of trading and managing it as a “tokenized” asset for owners. Each NFTicket will be designed by a renowned artist, infusing meaning and art into what was once a simple flight ticket.

The first 10 NFTickets in history will mark the paradigm shift in the travel industry. Given the notability of each NFT artist, the NFTickets will become unique and eternal collectible pieces.

The NFTickets also unlock the access to a series of unique and exclusive events during Art Basel – Miami for its owners.

The journey begins in a first-class AirEuropa cabin from Madrid to Miami on November 29 and continues upon landing at a private event at Art Basel Miami, where the NFTicket holders and artists will celebrate this momentous event in history together.

The Eiffel Tower Through History

On March 15, 1889, the construction of the Eiffel Tower, engineered by Gustave Eiffel, was completed. The Parisian landmark is the perfect fusion between art, tourism and technology. The Eiffel Tower welcomes more than 7 Million visitors each year — making it the most visited paid monument in the world and the icon of tourism.
On August 25, 1919, George Stevenson-Reece was the first passenger aboard the first international commercial flight between London and Paris, ushering in a new era for the travel industry. When Stevenson-Reece saw the Eiffel Tower from the sky, he knew they had accomplished their objective for the flight.
In 1996, with the advent of the Internet, travelers from all over the world could book and buy their travel freely and quickly. Today, users are just one click away from reaching the Eiffel Tower.
On April 13th, 2022, immersed in the icon of tourism, TravelX tokenizes an air ticket for the first time in history, paving the way for a new category in the travel industry, NFTickets.

The World's First NFTicket Artist

Carlos Betancourt

NFTicket #1
FUTURE ETERNAL – 2022

Born in San Juan Puerto Rico in 1966 and raised by Cuban-born parents, Carlos Betancourt relocated to Florida with his family in 1980. Betancourt explores and examines humanity’s relationship and interactions with nature. His work also explores issues of identity, personal memories and beauty, all of which are heavily influenced by his years growing up in San Juan as well as in Miami. By means of re-examination, he recycles and reinterprets the past by delivering it in a fresh and new relevant context.

Learn more about the artist

Influenced by personal memories, he believes that art can be informed by one’s own experiences, not necessarily the other way around. Betancourt is heavily influenced by artists such as Ana Mendieta, Robert Rauchenberg and Courbet. In many of his multi-disciplinary artworks, he blends the boundaries between painting, photography and nature. Edouard Glissant’s belief that ‘the past resides in material objects that only release their hidden meanings when encountered imaginatively and sensuously’ resonates with his approach to his installations. Betancourt has worked as a curator, furniture designer and he has collaborated with acclaimed architect Alberto Latorre in several large-scale public art commissions. Betancourt and Latorre established the Betancourt-Latorre foundation, a 501(c) non-for profit organization that helps create projects by artists based in Miami and the Caribbean basin. Betancourt’s achievements are extensive: in 2015, Paul Lauster and Robert Farris Thompson published a book with Rizzoli, named Carlos Betancourt: Imperfect Utopia, which explores his art with more than 250 images and text. His retrospective at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Puerto Rico in 2015 was received with great acclaime, including Critic’s Pick in Art Forum magazine. Betancourt’s art is also a permanent fixture in public collections such as the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art NY, and New Orleans Museum of Art. His works have been shown at large-scale art fairs such as Art Basel Miami and Arco art fair in Madrid. Betancourt has also been awarded a multitude of awards; in 2018, he won the People’s Choice Award, Florida Prize, for the Contemporary Art exhibition in the Orlando Art Museum, as well as grants from the Bas-Fisher invitational and the National Endowment for the Arts Grant.

FAQs

What Is blockchain?

Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger that facilitates the process of recording transactions and tracking assets throughout hundreds of thousands of computers connected to the blockchain network.
The blockchain network distributes Tokens throughout the world with security standards and immediateness that no other network or system has.
Tokens contain rules that are inalterable once created. Those rules can be managed as Smart Contracts.

What is a token?

A token represents a set of rules encoded in a smart contract. Each token belongs to a blockchain address. It’s essentially a digital asset that is stored securely on the blockchain.
Tokens are most often known to be cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ether tokens.
However, they can be anything from votes to licenses to ownership of a song, or a representation of a flight ticket.
Tokens are merely assets or access rights (or both). They grant permission and/or ownership to a user. They are a key part of how blockchain technology works.
Another distinction is that tokens are always created on existing blockchains.

What is a Smart Contract?

Smart contracts are simply programs stored on a blockchain that run when predetermined conditions are met. They typically are used to automate the execution of an agreement so that all participants can be immediately certain of the outcome, without any intermediary’s involvement or time loss. They can also automate a workflow, triggering the next action when conditions are met.

What is an NFT?

NFT stands for non-fungible token. Non-fungible is an economic term that you could use to describe things like your furniture, a song file, or your computer. These things are not interchangeable for other items because they have unique properties.

NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items. They let us tokenize things like art, collectibles, even real estate. They can only have one official owner at a time and no one can modify the record of ownership or copy/paste a new NFT into existence.

In Travel industry, every PNR is unique since there are no two same seats on the same flight on the same date.

That’s why we handle every travel record as an NFT.

What is an NFTicket?

A non fungible token ticket is just like a regular ticket except a little more special – and flexible.
A limited number of NFTickets are created (“tokenized”) with a SmartContract and put up for sale or auction.
Those tickets give the owner access to a flight, exclusive events and ownership of the digital ticket itself (designed by a unique artist).
Like baseball cards, those NFTickets are rare and valuable all by themselves and importantly, can be traded.
All “trades” or transactions are recorded, safely and securely on the blockchain.
When the owner is ready, they can present the NFT and a matching ticket is issued in the traditional way.
